Sneakers and The Story behind
and at the end, a way of expression and a way of life!
In addition to the previous post “Sneakers and People”, now we are covering the durability and strength, emitting our favorite ornaments for our feet!
For the traditional people they are well known as “trainers”. It is impressive that our fathers, telling us “Come on kid, let’s go and buy some trainers for you, wearing them at school”. In the end, we thank them a lot because they pushed us to this kind of addiction.
Anyway, the word SNEAKER started in the US. Further back, somewhen around in the 1870s the first name for these shoes was Plimsolls. All began from the UK, where plimsolls were wearied by vacationers and tennis players. Later the trend became popular enough in the US where they were translated from Plimsolls to Sneakers. Then the rest of the world just followed.
As a result the brands started the endorsements to several athletes and the most well know example of this action was that Converse to her classic release the name of the Basketball player Chuck Taylor.

The same action followed by other brands as well and throuth the decades we see releases with several big names like Stan Smith, Jordan, Patrick Ewing, Kevin Durant and many other from all the variety of sports.

At end of the line the final receivers are us and we really like it! It doesn’t matter who you are, fashion addict or style maniac.

We all want an iconic pair of sneakers on our feet. Just because is iconic nothing else. We do care that we have at least one limited release of Jordans, or the new Kobe Bryant,

or we do care that our vans are been wearied by Henry Rollins from Black Flag.
The point is one! Sneakers never die and we want them all!
‘Till the next post,
Salute.
